Hi Crafters!! I made a ton of greeting cards as my gifts for my special Mother’s Day people, which included my Mom, Mother-in-Law and her Mom, and my daughter who is a new Mom. As I am day care for my 11 month old grand baby who is amazing, I did 1-2 card styles per day over the course of the week before Mother’s Day. I was still late in getting them out because baby’s needs comes first. 😉 You may hear her in the videos as well. LOL
I stamped 12 of each main image onto my homemade bases, then water colored them in with Stampin’UP! reinkers or Crayola washable markers. Most of these cards were stamped in Ranger’s Archival Jet Black ink. The hair for the Princess was colored direct to paper with the Crayola markers. I used Stampin’UP! inks to stamp some of the masculine cards. The baby cards were stamped onto colored card stock.
I made my own embossing pouch with some scraps of T-shirt material and 50% cornstarch and 50% baby powder, it worked great! But some of the embossing powder blew to parts of my card that had to be doctored with more stamping, so I could roll on. There are various tips to cover my boo-boos. The cards with embossing powder added were stamped with Versamark ink.
Watch the Video to see the cards and hear a little bit about my stamping and embossing journey during this project.
To save time for the baby cards, apply several stamps to your stamping block and ink the whole thing and stamp.
