A Late Birthday

Hi Crafters!! This is a very late card for my niece, whose birthday was in early August, who is a Sophomore this year. She was fascinated with the card. It did sound kind of like one of those rain sticks. lol. I should have only used one layer of foam, 2 allowed the die cuts and sequins to get underneath each other. All of the little die cuts were made with mat board, except for the store bought confetti ones (spider, cat). The Sizzix dies cut it beautifully, I had to trim the Verve apples because the thin dies will only cut the top layers of the mat board, but they still worked.

A closer look:

I ended up stamping on the top edge of the PTI Hexagon cover plate due to an ink smudge from my hand. LOL This is how it usually goes for me, when the card is complete!! And I’ve got so much time invested and I refuse to start over, especially since 1/4 of those micro beads are on the carpet between my toes. Thank goodness I had this tiny Salt Box Studio sentiment from Candle Companions. Ha! Ha!

20130905-080030.jpgThe bats were cut in blue mat board and doodled on with a Sharpie fine tip permanent marker. The pumpkins/verve apples were colored with Crayola washable markers, leaves were stamped in SU’s Old Olive ink. The witch shoes were cut in white mat board and direct to shoe inked with SU’s Rich Razzleberry, then swiped with a wet aqua painter with water and doodled on with a dark purplish Crayola washable marker. The large sequins caused problems inside the shaker card and so did the other sizes, I should have omitted them altogether. Plastic Halloween confetti, these were so fully of static electricity.

This was her gift, from Michael’s daily deal, reg. $49.99 on sale for $19.99.
