Farm Card Mar. 2018

Hey Crafters!! My wee honey boy (grand baby) turned 3 this month. The birthday party theme was Farm and he loves the large round hay bales. LOL

The stamps on this card are from a cute photopolymer stamp set by SaltBox Studio called, Farm Friends.

My card base is light blue for the sky, it’s an 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch piece of heavy weight card stock from The Paper Studio, scored in half lengthwise to make a wide top folding card. This would fit in a size 10 envelope, but I didn’t use one. I cut layers of landscape to mount to the card base using border dies from Lawn Fawn and Pretty Pink Posh.

The yellow layer is “hay” for hay bails, green is “grass” for cows and brown is “dirt” for pigs. LOL. I love making scenic cards!!

I used some Spellbinder circle dies for hay bales and colored them with Yellow and brown Copics.

Stamped the barn twice and mounted them together with Scotch foam tape.

Two large hay bales were mounted together with foam tape and glued down with Scotch ATG gun. Everything was colored with Copic alcohol markers.

Hay layer was adhered flat with ATG. Grass layer was mounted with foam tape. Dirt layer was mounted with foam tape.

A top view of some of the dimension.

I messed up coloring the legs of this bird, so I cut him away from the cow and glued him to the top of this big hay bale, which worked out perfectly and gave more balance to the scene. Mistakes happen. I’ve invested a lot of time so I make things work. Every detail no matter how small adds character.

Here is another card made with this same stamp set. Ironically, it was for my honey girl (grand daughter) when she turned 3.
