Kathy Rac’s 30 Day Road Trip St Louis 3-24-18

My gracious friend from work, Linda Brown, came with me for this fun day at The Novel Neighbor Book Store.

The first thing I colored were these fish that I pre-stamped the night before in my Canson Mixed Media pad with Memento Tux Black ink. I just picked up this wood mounted fish stamp at Hobby Lobby for $2.00 a couple of days ago. And used a picture of a Salmon for inspiration and colors to use. They were colored in Copic markers.

A fun selfie with Marcella Hawley from Power Poppy! She is a doll! I bought 3 of her stamp sets!!! They are my first, I’ve been coveting the geranium set and the set with the stacked tea cups with that parakeet on top! I don’t even know the names of the sets I bought. The menopausal struggle is real, people!! I will some back and share them later. Marcella brought fresh flowers for vases on al of the tables and also had succulents on little flower pots for each lady to take home.

The second thing I colored were these die cut Spellbinders Crabs. They were cut from Canson Water color paper. I love the pad that Wal-Mart Super Center sells. I used the Jane Davenport aqua crayons first. I just scribble them on, all of the colors I want, then blend them out with an aqua painter filled with water. Let them dry and go back with some Crayola washable kid’s markers and diluted that with the water pen. Then use some fine point sharpies in the same color families to enhance the dark areas for more definition.

Kathy spent time at each table showing us her “Coloring Magic” tips and tricks. She is Amazing and I can’t believe I got to sit right next to her!

A fun selfie with Kathy Racoosin!

It was so much fun to be in a room of like minded souls. Everyone coloring away. I can’t. Believe how fast the day went.

Marcella painting some of her lovely stamps with quash and water color? So much fun to watch. Kathy and Marcella gave us all a goodie bag that included, a stamp set from Marcella, a Lawn Fawn stamp shammy, candy and the bag itself is a nice storage/travel bag for stamping goodies. I posted this around 5pm CST, but my iPad kept crashing on the goodie bag photo.

It was a great day. I will have to come back and do some more editing, it’s so late now! Thanks for stopping by.

  1. What a pleasure it was to meet you and Linda on this special occasion! I’ve been a Fangirl of Kathy’s since I started visiting card making Blogs back in 2011. I understand your joy over meeting with her too! Until next time, Happy coloring:))
